About Singularity

Education for exponential times

Singularity is executive education for leaders who need to see what is coming and act on it. Since 2008 we have helped individuals, organizations and governments change the way they lead, think and create the future.

The premise

The next 100 years will hold 20,000 years of technological change.

Ray Kurzweil did the math. That is the distance from the birth of agriculture to the birth of the internet, twice, inside a single century. Every strategy a leader holds today was built for a slower world.

Founded by futurists

It started with a dinner and a question

In 2008, Peter Diamandis pitched Ray Kurzweil an idea over dinner: a new kind of university built for the pace of change ahead, one that would educate the leaders of tomorrow.

They could see that the education system of the time was setting leaders up to fail. The world needed people with a broad grasp of technology, a clear view of the challenges facing humanity, and a fearlessly entrepreneurial mindset.

Singularity University launched with support from NASA, Google and others. The mission has not changed since. The technology has only accelerated.

Our perspective

Zoom in, zoom out

We examine every technology through three lenses at once, then pair that view with tools and frameworks leaders can use the week they get back.

01

The individual

What the technology changes about how you work, decide and lead.

02

The organization

Where it creates advantage, where it erodes a business model, and how fast.

03

Society

The second-order effects that shape regulation, markets and public trust.

Where leaders start

Three ways in

The network

A global community of futuremakers

Futuremaker (n.) someone who actively shapes the world rather than watching it change, motivated by the belief that technology can build a better future.
